Why MCS?

What is MCS Accreditation?

For a company to be MCS accredited, they have to pass a set of quality standards. It is designed to provide a level of protection and assurance to consumers as well as a sign of quality to be boasted by MCS Installers.

In order to claim for a solar PV installation from your “Utility Service Provider” (USP) you need to confirm with your installer 2 main items:

1. What is their “Microgeneration Certification Scheme” (MCS) accreditation number?

CASUKL is a registered installer under MCS. Our number is 1033.

2. Is the product MCS accredited?

CASUKL ONLY use MCS accredited solar PV modules unless specifically requested not to by the customer.

Before actually purchasing a solar PV array from any installer it is always a good idea to check the following :

Is planning permission required?

The Energy Saving Trust state that planning permission is NOT required on most domestic installations but it is always better to consult your local council’s planning department to be sure.

Does your Utility Service Provider support the Feed-InTariffs (FITS)?

Although the majority of the UK’s USP’s do support the FIT scheme it is important to know before paying out your hard earned money.

Once the installation is complete you will receive a pack containing all of the relevant information about your systems, the individual component breakdown and datasheets for all of the system major components and you will be issued with an MCS certificate.
